Off to OklahomaOn Friday 27th October a group of us are off on our travels, to see Oklahoma at the New Brighton Floral Pavilions. Tony Lacey, one of our current members, has a part in the above musical and we wish him a successful time. Free Cinema Tickets to be Won in Photo Gallery CompetitionThere has been quite a positive response to the new members photo gallery and the photo captions. Hence now comes your opportunity to compose a witty caption yourself. The funniest will win a pair of cinema tickets for Warner Cinema Complex in Birkenhead. Choose which photo you want to write a caption for (identify it by current caption) and email adamw98@totalise.co.uk with your entries. Closing date will be 21st November 2000. Any entries containing inappropriate language or lewd suggestions will not be considered. You may enter up to 5 different entries, but only one caption per photo. Like waiting for a Bus, none for years then suddenly two in quick succession , its another Rotaract WeddingAs you are aware Helen and Steve tied the knot in May of this year, and now another couple have announced plans to get married , our congratulations go to Tony Lacey and Cathy Eccleston who have set a date of July 29th 2001 followed by a 3.5 week honeymoon around most of America. They say buses come in three's so don't be surprised if another Rotaract Wedding is announced in the next six months or so. Julian Cleary Concert CancelledThe above, which was scheduled for the 1st December has been cancelled by the Liverpool Empire, where it was due to take place. Half a dozen members had expressed a desire to go prior to hearing the news. The rumour is that he knew he could not put on a better performance than Tony Lacey in Oklahoma!, so rather than be embarrassed he decided to cancel. PS, don't tell his lawyer. Christmas Meal Date DecidedWe are going to Sheldrake's in Heswall for our Christmas meal on Saturday 16th December 2000. Please contact Helen Bibby if you wish to go, the price of the meal is £15 and it is a tradition Christmas meal. Lets get RappingSorry I mean wrapping. Yes, its nearly that time of year again when we assist in the wrapping of presents and gifts for those people in need at Christmas. South Wirral Rotary will provide the gifts, and we will do the wrapping and assist in the delivering of the parcels/food hampers to those addresses of the needy provided by Heswall CVS. News Archive |
