All Change at the Top

Sadly due to work pressure , Lucia has had to step down as President. Everyone at Rotaract would like to thank Lucia for all the hard work she has put in over  the last two and a half years. It has been very much appreciated.

paul_reddy.jpg (48442 bytes)The new President is Paul Reddy (pictured left). He joined Rotaract in March 2001, works in Southport for a training company, likes playing badminton, and we all wish him every success in his new role.

 

 

Helen and Lucia raise over £100 for Charity 

helen_p.jpg (28404 bytes)On Sunday 22nd September , Helen Partington (pictured left)  and Lucia did a six mile sponsored walk in aid of the charity  'Walk to Cure Diabetes'.  

Helen raised over £95, and Lucia raised £20. A big vote of thanks for both of them.

 

Christmas Meal

Has been set for Friday 13th December at Ruby's in Hoylake. The address is 22-24 Market St, Hoylake CH47 2AE. The cost is £16.95 each and a £5 deposit, as soon as possible, to Lucia will book your place. 

The restaurant has a website http://www.rubyrock.com if you want to have a look. We shall be meeting in the Weatherspoons pub at 7.30pm. The pub is  approximately 100 yards  up the road from the restaurant.

Sarah and James have a new Daughter

Sarah Duke and James Davis have a new baby girl called Samantha Jayne, born on 4 October. The baby weighed in at  8lb 8oz. Congratulations to the pair of them. Hopefully we will have some pictures of the new baby very soon.

Another Baby on the Way

Tony and Cathy Lacey who got married in July 2001 are expecting their first child in January 2003. Things usually happen in threes, so will their be any more Rotaract babies in the near future ?

Congratulations to the both of them on their impending parenthood.

 

Alex Raises £1500 for 'Give us a Break' Charity.

alex_john.jpg (70771 bytes)During September Alex Nelson went on a two week trek across the Canadian Rockies. The trek was for the charity 'Give us a Break'. 

On your left, she is receiving a cheque for £100 from John Lennox of Heswall Rotary.

 

'Hot Shot' Steven

steven.jpg (32953 bytes)On the recent ten pin bowling evening Steven (pictured left),  was in good form, since he won a bottle of champagne and a free bowling evening.

Steven joined our ranks in September, he is, an accountant, works in Liverpool and resides in Wallasey.

He has already contributed a lot, by helping with the street collection on the 14th September, and standing in as a secretary at the last business meeting.
